9 million people suffer from arthritis in the UK. We are excited to have recruited our first patient to a new trial investigating pain perception in arthritis of the hand . The HARTS study is a collaboration with Professor of Rheumatology , Nidhi Sofat and will hopefully help us understand arthritis in the hand better ensuring better patient care in the future. We are recruiting NHS patients undergoing surgical treatment for base of thumb arthritis .
